#OOTD Romping Around Town

Ahhhh, firstly I have to say after a week hiatus it's good to be back in the groove! Also sorry for missing my weekly post, I recently moved to be closer to my job as well as the city, so  I have been nesting (this has also given me some great ideas for this weeks upcoming wish-list Wednesday post)! However more on that subject will come on Wednesday, because this post shines the spotlight on what I think is a total go to summer outfit: The Romper.

Romper from Fascino

Romper from Fascino

Okay, so I know a romper can be a bit of a pain if you need to use the ladies room but that's literally this piece's only down fall. I mean it's absolutely perfect for a nice afternoon out about town. So why is this piece so great? Well for one I love rompers in general because they are breezy and cool for the ridiculously hot and humid summer weather. I also love this one in particular because of it's unique cut, I mean lately other than on Fascino I have had trouble finding long sleeve rompers that I really liked. Another bonus about this piece is the material is so soft and flowy therefore not leaving you uncomforable or constricted while bee-bopping around.

Accessories

Of course I won't leave you hanging on some of my other fave pieces. And as always these accessories really make the outfit! The first essential? Shades.

I love these shades for two reasons:

  1. They remind me of a cross between Andy Warhol's and Audrey Hepburn's sunglasses. So they are artsy and chic. Who wouldn't dig it?
  2. I got them for $0.99 at Myrtle Beach. Awesome right?!

Not to mention, they go with just about everything.

Next up is my nude bag that I actually purchased at TJ Maxx. I adore this purse because it is structured with metal ridges that double as a track to lock your belongings inside along with having a soft but industrial look.

And lastly my taupe Tahari heels. The reason I chose these lovelies is due to the fact I had a dinner engagement following this shoot, there for these heel's were just the thing to dress this playful look up a bit, all the while keeping it fun!

#OOTD: A Walk in the Park

Summer is upon us! However, it's been a bit difficult to enjoy the warm weather due to all of the rain. Today I just couldn't stand being house bound any longer so my beau and I decided to take advantage of the rain break and hit some trails, and with the ground still wet it was the perfect opportunity to break in my new kicks. You guessed it: rain boots! (And of course a nice and breezy summer look to go with them.)

About the boots:

I have to admit that these Ralph Lauren boots are pretty awesome as well as adorable due to the darling plaid pattern. What else makes them so rad? Well, the first thing I noticed when slipping them on was, unlike other rain boots I've had in the past that had little to no support or comfort, these babies are so comfortable. These boots actually have a cushioned insole to keep your feet comfy, as well as dry. The other sweet perk is they have great gripping for hiking, so they are practical, as well as stylish.

What's on top?

As for the rest of the outfit, let me start with the jeans: They are just a light wash pair of Ann Taylor skinnies. I adore them because they add a relaxed look to your outfit without dressing it down too much.

Next is my beloved Apt. 9 Birds of a Feather top. It's a nice, cool, and flowy summer piece for all the hot weather coming our way. I also love it because it's not only convenient for the season but the painted birds really add a pop of color to any outfit and really brightens it up for the season!

Lastly, I'd like to talk about my Locked Bag from DSW: Not only is it fashionable but it was a total steal. One of the many reasons why I like this bag is because it locks, so it's extra insurance that the items in your bag remain secure weather it be on a crazy road trip or not to get pick-pocketed bopping around the city on a night outing.

#OOTD: Playing Dress Up In Grandmother's Closet

DISCLAIMER: Before I go into my post, I know this can be a touchy and controversial subject. Though I would never purchase a real fur coat for myself, I'm not going to not wear one that was left to me.

Well, how did you get the fur then?

When my grandmother passed away in 2013 she left me two of her absolutely gorgeous silver fox fur coats, one long and one 3/4 length (pictured in this post).

Honestly up until this year I have been nervous to wear this lovely piece because it seemed a bit outdated to wear fur, and some even view it as offensive. However due to New York Fashion Week bringing it back this year I figured why not break out my beaut and rock it! After all it did keep me warm while I was frolicking around Old Economy Village for my shoot in the snow and 3 degree weather!

The reason I love this piece is because just like my grandmother it is elegant and classic. Not to mention it's a show stopper, and being an Aries I naturally love being able to captivate an audience just by walking into the room! Also another thing I find admirable about this coat is when the sun hits the lush silver fur it is absolutely exquisite the way it glimmers.

The last reason I love my grandmother's former coat is because I feel that it seriously glams up a very simple outfit. For example other than that coat I'm just wearing some of my very simple but favorite pieces such as: My Banana Republic cowl neck sweater, Ann Taylor jeans, along with Ariat english short riding boots, and of course my beloved Banana Republic shades just for the finishing touch! Who said casual couldn't be glamorous?
