#OOTD: A Day in Dots & Denim (Feat. Fascino)

With the weather we've been having recently here in the Burgh I really cannot believe in a few short weeks Fall will be upon us (though I cannot wait for those low-fat pumpkin spice lattes!). However due to the fact the heat has been so high here, I haven't brought myself to retire my entire summer wardrobe into storage just yet but have been just putting things away here and there and using others as transitional outfits. And the outfit featured in this article today is in fact what I would describe as one of these "transitional outfits". I also have to point out that it is also from one of my favorite (online) Pittsburgh based boutiques, A.K.A. Fascino . Now that we have all the chit-chat out of the way let's get on to this nifty outfit:

What's On Top?

This top is the Sara Polka Dot tank by Fascino. The reason why I love this top it because it is so loose and comfy that it's easy to wear for any occasion, whether that is a busy day running errands around the city or just kicking back and having a brew with your pals at a bonfire, this top is perfect for either scenario. I also really liked the feminine flare that the lace trim gives this piece.

So why do I consider this a transitional top? The main reason why is because for me personally, I always related darker/richer colors with Fall and light and bright ones with Summer/Spring. Therefore being that this top is navy it falls (Get it? Yeah, I know, I'm lame.) under the richer and dark category. Also this piece also pairs well with a cream colored sweater, which comes in very handy once the sun goes down and it inevitably gets cooler out. Love the top? Snag it here .

Celine Paris Studded Bag

The reason why I love this creme colored bag is because it is wonderfully suited for both summer and fall! Along side helping me keep up my girly but edgy  look, it also helps keep me organized due to the different and easy to get to compartments with in the bag.

Not Your Boyfriend's Jeans

These jeans (also from Fascino) are a wonderful buy because they are so unbelievably soft and comfortable, and they also look absolutely great on! For me these jeans are a year-round piece (okay maybe not so much in the winter due to the cold but hey sometimes we get an Indian summer!) simply because the boyfriend jean is just so classic and go well with most of my dress-down wardrobe.

Another reason why I like these jeans in particular and chose to pair them with this top, is because I love the light wash of them and feel it pairs very well with the navy top. Need these jeans? Click it.

Frye Company Flats

Ah, yes. My forever reliable Frye Company Flats, so much so I have four pairs in various colors! The reason I love these shoes as well as this company is because of how comfortable and extremely well made an durable they are, I mean I've had all these shoes since my freshman year of college back in 2011, and they still look great! Another reason to love them is because they double as both a casual shoe and a work shoe for those days you just can't wear heels!

#OOTD: Back to Basics With Some Flare (Feat. Bijoux USA Flat Square Necklace)

Black, white, and bold. That's essentially what I wore today when I stepped out into Sewickley to meet my mother for our weekly Sunday Funday brunch.  I just thought what a better opportunity to step out in my beloved sun hat, white pocketed Ann Taylor top, paired with basic black shorts and some edgy chained sandals. And what better to compliment and dress up an outfit other than some statement jewelry! Let's check out the deets below:

First Up: Black Sun Hat by Style Plaza

I've said it before and I'll say it again: I love this piece because it really is a staple piece and it's just so simplistic it goes with just about anything. Also for a day out in the hot sun, it really helps keep you cool and shady!

My Beloved Banana Republic Shades:

The Flare: Bijoux USA Flat Square Necklace

This piece is one of my favorite necklaces to dress up any out fit. To me it's just so fun and bright and cheery for summer and really glams up an otherwise simple outfit.

Next: White Pocketed Silk Blouse by Ann Taylor

This blouse is seriously one of my go to pieces for a hot day. It's breezy, cool, and comfy. What more could you want in a piece of clothing? I also adore the little detail of the button to roll up the sleeve.

Large Cuff Bracelet by Bijoux USA:

This cuff is one of my favorite staple pieces of jewelry because it's so simplistic and can be worn with just about anything!

Louis Vuitton 2008 Cruise Collection Bag:

This bag has been my old reliable summer bag since my Junior year of high school. This fun summer bag is just so comfortable to carry due to the wide straps and also is very easy to have cleaned at the end of the season due to the fact it is made out of canvas material.

Basic Black Shorts also by Ann Taylor:

These shorts are also very comfy and cool for the summer weather. Since they are made of rayon and cotton they let your legs breath and keep you from getting too hot.

Last: Nine West Sandals

I adore these sandals because they add a little edge to this chill outfit. I also love them because they are incredibly comfortable and though they have a little heel, they aren't so high that they kill your feet.

#OOTD: Tied Up in Two Tones

After enjoying the cook-out my family had for father's day yesterday, I decided to take a stroll in Baden's local park due to the surprisingly nice weather (one thing I have learned over the years is to always expect the opposite of what the weather man is calling for!). I also took this opportunity to do this outfit of the day post in light of my fun and breezy fathers day cook-out look. Let's see it:

So why am I digging this outfit so much? Well honestly when my mum showed me this while out shopping for a new top to go with my white teared skirt, I wasn't sure if I was digging the two toned tie up blouse however when I went in to the dressing room and tried on this I-N-C blouse on with my beloved long skirt I knew they were just a match made in heaven!

The perks of this duo is they are perfect for pretty much any summer occasion. I feel this top really adds a nice flare due to it's two toned qualities to an otherwise very basic piece. I love the skirt simply because of it's boho chic vibe, and to top it all off both these pieces are comfy as well as cool for that summer heat.

The Accessories:

First up on my accessories list is my much adored Plaza Suite sunhat. I've always been a fan of hats because much like this one they always add a little something extra to an outfit!

Now for one of my all time favorite accessories: My heart shaped gold rim sunglasses from American Eagle. When I purchased these two summers ago, I was totally  channelling my inner Lana Del Rey (love her!) and ever since I have to say these still remain one of my favorite summer accessories simply becasue they are super feminine, flirty, and fun!

Next is my new necklace from Fascino . The reason I paired this necklace with this outfit is because I wanted to add a little more edge to the classic boho look. I like this necklace because though it's definitely a statement piece, it's not too over the top.

Last but not least, my Coach clutch (see I told you I didn't totally despise Coach!). This was a gift from my grandmother from back when I first started college so I didn't have to lug around a huge purse along with my book-bag, text books, and camera equipment. Though when I was 18 I didn't heed her advice I have to say that nowadays this little bag comes in quite handy!
