#OOTD: Ruffle Some Feathers (Feat. SheIn + Rocksbox)

After being stuck at home and in bed all week with an absolutely nasty cold, I was more than ready to get out of my house for a bit--even if that meant braving the officially back to normal Pittsburgh weather. Though this lunch outing meant trekking around in the 'Burgh's frigid cold, slushy, and gloomy climate, I didn't let that get me down, and made the best of my trip to South Side to grab a bite to eat yesterday with my mum. And aside from snagging a Fahrenheit 451 burger from The Library (a.k.a my favorite restaurant on East Carson Street) to lift my spirits, I also decided to dress up a little bit because quite frankly, I needed a break from my pajamas.

Terrifically Tiered

Since I am still not feeling one hundred percent, I decided wearing a more comfortable outfit would be the best way to go, and admittedly after wearing slippers all week I wasn't quite ready to step back into my stilettos. So for this lunch date, I decided to pair this gorgeous pink blouse, from my sponsor SheIn, with my favorite (and most comfortable) light wash Levi skinnies, along with some nude flats and matching neutral accessories. The reasons these pieces mesh so well together is because this light pink blouse looks wonderful against the light wash jeans, and to top it off the jeans distressed look add balance to the blouse, giving it a much more casual feel. And due to this outfit's kicked back vibe, it was the perfect look for a relaxing afternoon, and also kept me looking stylish, even while being sick.

The reason I chose this pink tiered sleeved blouse from my sponsor SheIn, was mainly because one of my style resolutions for this year was to wear more pink! So I figured why not start off strong and tackled a few of my style resolutions in one month? However, I also loved this blouse because of its tiered sleeves, which was (and still is) one of the hottest trends on the runway for the fall and winter seasons. I had been wanting to experiment with this look for sometime but hadn't gotten the opportunity to until now! I also have to say, this blouse is very well made and is actually a perfect piece for winter, and not only because it is a much needed pop of color, but because this blouse is actually made of a heavy material and is also lined, which make this piece a great choice during the cold months ahead.

Then to put the finishing touches on the fun, casual outfit, I decided to pair it with my brown, faux alligator skin clutch from SheIn, as well as some beautiful, gold earrings from A.V. Max, compliments of Rocksbox. The reason I chose this neutral bag is because it complimented the pink blouse nicely, much like the nude flats I chose to wear. Then due to this outfit's fun appeal, I felt that these lovely boho earrings by A.V. Max were simply the perfect finishing touch to this nice, laid back outfit.

#OOTD: Emerald City (Feat. StyleWe)

This past Sunday was definitely unseasonably warm for January. Here in the Burgh we had temperatures in the mid sixties, which was definitely a little treat for me to shoot in, considering the past few weeks have been brutally cold. However, I did take advantage of the spring like weather and decided to take to Station Square for brunch at Houlihan's! And what better way to celebrate warm spring like weather than to dress for it? So to keep in the warm weather mind set, I stepped out in my gorgeous new green dress from my sponsor and affiliate StyleWe

Though I don't wear the color green often, it is a color that I love and connect with for quite a few reasons. The first being is that I absolutely love to be outdoors (well, at least when it's not freezing) and one of my fondest memories from when I was a kid is memories of my family and I camping in Kennerdell. Something about the fresh woodsy air and being surrounded by green just brought such a feeling of joy to me, and even as a child, I always felt rejuvenated after a weekend of rest and relaxation in the forest. The second reason I connect so much with the color green, is simply because it makes me think of my mum. This is because green has always been her favorite color, and much like me she loves to be outside and enjoy the weather during the warm months of spring and summer.

Gorgeous Greenery

The reason I felt my pretty, new, emerald green dress from StyleWe would be the perfect fit for my brunch at Houlihan's in Station Square, wasn't only because this dress' rich green color mirrored the weather perfectly. But because I felt this little cocktail dress would be the perfect option to sip Bloody Mary's and enjoy a Sunday brunch.

The dress itself is a beautiful as well as unique piece for any occasion. The first thing that made this dress stand out to me was of course the luxurious green color, because I don't know about you, but I have had a really hard time finding any garments in (an attractive) green! So obviously I was thrilled when StyleWe offered to send me this gorgeous emerald green dress. The other great thing about this dress is that it is cut just right and makes it a good option for both work and play, due to the fact it's not too short to wear to the office, but is still fun and flirty enough for after hours activities! This dress is also true to size and fit me absolutely perfectly.

The last thing I adored about this lovely green dress was its pleated detailing on its hem and sleeves. These little details just add a fun, but sophisticated feel to this gorgeous emerald green cocktail dress. The reason I loved the pleated details so much is also because they give a very romantic and feminine feel to this dress which is a style I have been trying to incorporate more of into my wardrobe.

Lastly, to put the finishing touches on this beautiful green dress, I chose to pair this dress with my gold and turquoise Kendra Scott Dee Earrings (compliments of Rocksbox), my gold Cartier open heart bracelet, and this gorgeous drop pendant leaf necklace that I received from Fascino. The reason I chose these jewelry pieces is due to the fact the gold jewelry really stands out against the lush green, and the turquoise color of the drop earrings complemented the green of this dress perfectly.

#OOTD: Haute Mess (Feat. SheIn)

Normally, I am not one to hop on to fashion trend bandwagons quickly, and if I do (as I'm sure you remember from many of my past posts) I am usually anywhere from a season to a year late in doing so. This is honestly, because when it comes to my personal style, I am quite the creature of habit. Though my wardrobe is very diverse, I generally prefer to mix and match trends to my liking and don't worry about the hottest runway looks, because quite frankly in the past two years there have only been a handful that I was a fan of. However, 2017 has completely broken that cycle and I am thrilled that I have loved every new look I have seen coming from the runway this season-- especially because many of the looks contain pieces that are already in my wardrobe, and that are easy for everyone to style.

Bad Girls Club

As I mentioned in my last style guide post, two style trends that we will be seeing a lot of in 2017 are both slogan tees and loads of leather and moto style clothing. So for this look, I was excited to have the opportunity to style this "Haute Mess" slogan tee from my sponsor SheIn, along with some of my other favorite garments and accessories. To start off though, I have to say that like all of my clothes from SheIn, this tee is very soft and comfortable and it also fits perfectly. And the reason I thought this slogan tee was perfect for the trend this season was due to the fact that it is a just such a fun play on words.

As I stated earlier, another trend that I'm very fond of this season, is the leather and moto style clothing trend. The reason I dig this look so much is probably because when I was growing up, my dad had a motorcycle and I always had a fascination with leather clothing, and throughout my teenage years I always had a knack for styling glam rock inspired outfits. I just love the "NTBFW" edge that they give and their cool rock n' roll vibe. Perhaps a small part of me will never grow out of that rebellious phase I had as a teen, or possibly, I just love the feeling of nostalgia that these pieces bring.

To style this tee, I decided to combine the two trends together and paired it with my vintage Wilsons Leather bomber jacket (I've seriously had this jacket since eighth grade and it's honestly a mystery how it still fits me--but I'm not complaining!), my black PU Leather moto pants from SheIn, and a pair of patent leather heels. The reason I decided to style these two trends together is honestly, because I feel they go hand in hand, especially if you have a tongue-in-cheek slogan tee such as this one

To further style this look, I decided to accessorize this glam rock inspired outfit with some fittingly glam statement jewelry as well as some over-sized sunglasses. The reason I chose this silver metal collar necklace from Fascino to go with this outfit, was that I loved the clean lines and hard edges of it and felt that it added to this outfit's rocker chic vibe. I also liked that though it's a statement necklace, that it did not take away from the slogan tee at all, and in my opinion complemented it.
